I just got done with the early stages of the new Marketplace on this website. I figure that the marketplace will be helpful to a lot of people in their quest to owning a profitable website. The Markeplace pulls in feeds from all over the web to show you 24/7 what websites, domains, scripts etc. are for sale.

I hope you all enjoy the Marketplace, please leave any suggestions as comments, they will be greatly appreciated!

You probably already know of Google Adsense if you have been a webmaster for a while or even if you spend a decent amount of time on the internet. Adsense is basically a must have for most websites, and I would have to say it is the most commonly used program out there today. Here is a short description of the program if you already don’t know about it:

Google Adsense is an ad serving program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image and, more recently, video advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a t per-click or per-thousand-impressions basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a cost-per-action based service.

Google utilizes its search technology to serve ads based on website content, the user’s geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google’s targeted ad system may sign up through AdWords. AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the ads are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the ads is often relevant to the website.

There are literally thousands of shared hosts out there, and I’ve narrowed
it down to the top five. This really is the top five hosts, you will not go wrong
with any of these hosts. All of them are top notch trusted companies.
I’ve invested many hours investigating hosting, cumulatively I’ve hosted with 11 different
companies since I’ve started, so I’ve learned from my mistakes.

Shared hosting is for starting out a website, or running a low to medium
sized website. Once your website reaches over 8-10,000 uniques a day,
you should start thinking about getting a dedicated server.

1. StartLogic 300 GB Space, 3000GB Bandwidth, $5.95/m (Personally Used)
This is the BEST shared host I’ve used. I never had any problems at all using
StartLogic. I ran some proxies with them, and the proxies were quite
demanding but I never saw any downtime or error documents.
Their support, transfer speed, and datacenter are all excellent.
They also have over 80,000 active customers, so they are trusted.
Check out the other plans, but I strongly recommend using StartLogic first.

2. HostMonster 300GB Space, 3000GB Bandwidth, $5.95/m
Almost an identical plan to StartLogic. I’ve heard great things
about HostMonster from fellow webmasters, it’s another great plan
from a trusted host. This much space and bandwidth for $5.95 a
month is amazing, I am currently using a dedicated server that only gets
half of HostMonster’s and StartLogic’s space and bandwidth amounts.

3. iPower 300GB Space, 3000GB Bandwidth, $4.95/m (Personally Used)
iPower is the most popular host. I used them a while back
when they were not offering as much space and bandwidth, but I still
liked them a lot. They offer everything you can ask for in a host, they are even
$1 cheaper a month than the first two hosts that made the list.
I still recommend StartLogic or HostMonster though for support
reasons considering that iPower hosts over 700,000 websites.

4. ixWebHosting 300GB Space, 3000GB Bandwidth, $3.95/m
Same great plan as the other companies, and the same great features.
I have never used this host but it is ranked in the top 5 on almost
every hosting review website. I like their offer, and their 8 years of
experience. This is another host you can’t go wrong with.

5. MidPhase 200GB Space, 3000GB Bandwidth, $7.95/m (Personally Used)
Not as much space as the other hosts, but I doubt you will ever need over 200GB.
Their price is also higher, but you get $175 in freebies when you sign up.
I used them when they had unlimited bandwidth, and I like them a lot.
If you run a high traffic site, you can upgrade to an almost unheard of plan that
offers unlimited bandwidth for only $11.95 a month.
